CT Man Admits Killing Estranged Wife Despite Active Protective Order; Held On $3M Bond
A Connecticut man who admitted to killing his estranged wife, a well-loved business owner and mother of three, has been arrested, police said. He also attempted suicide after the attack, but failed.
Leon Stetson, 67, was arrested Thursday, June 12, and charged with murder, home invasion, and violation of a protective order in the death of Carrie Stetson, 54, Connecticut State Police said.
Police were called to Carrie Stetson's Oak Street home in Winchester at about 9:41 p.m. Monday, June 8, after a witness reported seeing blood inside the house.

Police have arrested a Connecticut man they say groomed a 15-year-old girl with drugs and gifts before sexually assaulting her multiple times.
Ryan Kelsey Aubert, 45, of Chaplin, was arrested Wednesday, June 10, following an investigation that began with a report involving a 4-year-old child's possible exposure to THC gummies.
The case started on March 12, 2025, after the Connecticut Department of Children and Families reported suspected child abuse or neglect involving the child, according to Aubert's arrest warrant.
