The Democratic National Committee is ramping up its presence in New Jersey, adding $1.5 million its spending just as new polling shows the governor’s race remains a nail-biter.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the DNC announced its latest investment, bringing its total in New Jersey to $3 million this cycle, the most it has ever spent in the state during an off-year election. Tomeka Thiam filed for divorce the rapper, who grew up in Union City and Newark, citing irreconcilable differences, on Thursday, Sept. 11, four days before their 29th wedding anniversary, PEOPLE reported.
The couple have one child, a 17-year-old daughter.

$4.5M Ministry Purchase Secures Somerset Property
Pillar Plaza, a non-profit ministry in Somerset County has purchased an office property in Somerset for $4.5 million, Bussel Realty Corp. announced.
The 84,325 square foot office property is located at 80 Cottontail Ln., off Exit 5 on Route 287, Bussel Realty said. The property consists of 85,425 square feet of modern office space, with 329 surface and covered parking spaces. The property was purchased through Ten-X, an online platform specializing in commercial real estate auctions.

Rutgers Poll: Sherrill Maintains Lead Over Ciattarelli In NJ Gov Race
Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., has a nine point lead over Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli in the race to be New Jersey's next governor according to a Rutgers-Eagleton poll published Thursday, Aug. 21.
Sherrill leads Ciattarelli 44% to 35%, with 17% of voters undecided according to the poll. Independents back Sherrill by a slim margin, 33% to 32% with 29% undecided, according to a poll.
The candidates are running to replace Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy, who is term limited.
